GTfit 2/26/2011 – Park run
Dear GTfit readers,
Spring was definitely not here today as I took the team (Johann, Sou, Mari, Rachelle and Tristan) out for a group run in Valley Stream park. It was still 34 degrees and chilly but that did not slow us down. We did a 12 minute warm up which consisted on runner’s warm-up and movements. Today the ladies did a 2.7 mile run and the boys did 3miles as well as doing stations consisted of push-ups, pull-ups, dips, and spiderman crawls. Done in one hour. Today was our first 2011 group workout and hopefully it will not be the last. Being inspired and pushing yourself to do things that the normal person would not be daring to do is a beautiful thing. What’s the point on complaining about the weather? Seize the day because tomorrow is never promise. Also decided to call add a new tag line to GT “GET FIT” or for short GTfit. I think it’s catchy and it says what we are about Either get fit for life or for zombies. We will be ready.
